my name is lynn an, a chicago-based musical theatre composer focused on inspiring others to explore and cherish the possibilities in their lives. i write to reach beyond myself—believing in the power of theatre to tell multidimensional, ever-evolving, and universal stories.

my music is dramatic, punchy, and lyrically focused, often drawing from my personal experiences with faith, ambition, and love. at heart, i create to disarm, elevate, and connect listeners wherever they are on their journeys.

i am currently drafting my first full-length musical, while attending a master’s program at berklee college of music. success, to me, is creating stories that are shared more than once, and songs that live on through new voices and new stages.

composers and lyricists of my youth—stephen sondheim, howard ashman, jason robert brown, and stephen schwartz—have shaped me immensely in their ability to move hearts and challenge minds. through their artistry, i believe storytelling belongs to anyone who dares to listen, hope, and keep creating.
